THE WALKERS CAMPAIGN

The world of Johnnie Walker is a premium world. It is, after all, a premium scotch whisky made from only the most refined grains and blends.

The brand held the launch of its latest marketing campaign dubbed The Walkers. 

Introducing ? The New Walker

Johnnie Walker has chosen popular Kenyan rapper Nyashinski to partner with for The Walkers campaign. Quite a fitting partnership. Nyashinski has been giving us great hits from way back when he was a member of Kleptomaniax till today as a solo artist with a repertoire of musical hits while Johnnie Walker as a brand stands for progress. This sentiment was echoed by KBL Managing Director Mr. Musunga who had this to say, “ As part of the Diageo family, we believe brands mean much more when they stand for something. And Johnnie Walker, one of the most premium brands in the world, has always stood for progress- pushing boundaries,  challenging convention, and celebrating personal milestones in pursuit of progress.”

“His hard work and determination have paid off as he is arguably one of the best – if not the best in the Kenyan music industry,” added Anne-Joy Michira, the EABL Marketing and Innovation Director.

This is not their first stint together. Johnnie Walker brand was a key sponsor for Nyashinski’s Shincity Music Concert earlier in the year. “I want to be an inspiration to artists and others who look up to me. I believe in creating music that liberates people and souls” said Nyashinski who was equally delighted with the partnership.

Onto The Event

Of course, Stylenerds Journal had to be there, when have we ever missed a premium event? Exactly, never. 

So according to our Stylenerds Journal correspondent, the event is by far the most organized event she has attended despite time delays. What they lost in time management they made up for in organization and entertainment. 

After a brief history of The Johnnie Walker brand, Nyashinski revved up the crowd by performing his hits. “ A Nyashinski performance is like no other. I left the event still on a music high and already wishing for the next event. Everything was perfect from the people, the ambiance, the food, and of course the drinks – I take mine as a cocktail,” says Sandra, our Stylenerds Journal correspondent for The Walkers launch.  While we are on the topic of Johnnie Walker cocktails…
