“Artcaffe defines genuine authenticity”, one of Artcaffe’s well-known slogans rang true on August 29 as the Artcaffe group opened its 29thbranch in Kitengela. Was it a coincidence to open their 29thoutlet on this specific date? Probably not, but the stars seemed to have aligned to make sure that it was a successful opening for Artcaffe’s newest branch.
For those unfamiliar with Artcaffe, the restaurant chain is a casual dining café with a full-service bakery, coffee shop and bar. Artcaffe-Kitengela branch is special because it is the group’s first location outside the capital. This branch seeks to offer a fun social hub to the budding Kitengela region by offering an appealing space for Kenyans looking for the ultimate cosmopolitan experience.
On the afternoon of the 29thof August 2019, we took the long drive from Nairobi to attend the opening of Artcaffe’s new branch on the ground floor of Kitengela Mall. We arrived at 7:00pm to a warm welcome from the Artcaffe staff. Everyone got a glass of champagne and we were ushered past the dining area to the outdoor terrace where we would spend the rest of the evening.
The space was excellent and paid homage to Artcaffe’s reputable offering of a relaxed and modern environment. There were wall plants around the meshed walls along with cocktail tables and high chairs for guests to sit and mingle as they enjoyed the night. The rain portended great blessings for the new establishment and added a tranquil ambience to the contrasting festive mood created by the upbeat music. We went on to have an exciting evening filled with laughter and stimulating conversations.
The head of Real Estate for the ArtCaffe Group, Betty Musyoki gave us an official welcome with a short speech about the group’s first venture in the outskirts of Nairobi. She expressed the group’s excitement and pride in bringing the Artcaffe experience to the flourishing middle class residents of Kitengela.
Artcaffe Kitengela went all out in offering the best of their signature dishes and drinks, yet again staying true to their authentic nature in giving the best dining experiences. Throughout the night, we got to sample an assortment of Artcaffe’s delectable dishes from their menu. There were chicken skewers, beef burgers, chicken burgers and pizzas. There were vegetarian options as well and these included falafel burgers, cheese skewers, and vegetarian Pizzas. For desert, we got to taste Artcaffe’s passion and white chocolate cake, a sweet addition to the already amazing evening.
Now when it came to the drinks, I’m sure you already know that Artcaffe never disappoint. The drinks were in as much abundance as the attentive staff offered refill after refill of Arcaffe’s signature cocktails. There was vodka, whisky and rum cocktails and a glass of beer as well, all depending on what you preferred.
After the exceptional dining experience, the only thing left was to cut the cake in honor of Artcaffe Kitengela. This was the befitting end to a fruitful evening.
Artcaffe stayed true to what we all love it for; a dining establishment that values your experience. The residents of Kitengela are privileged to be the only Kenyans outside of Nairobi to have the Artcaffe experience within reach. How lucky you are Kitengela!
