A BURGER-FILLED INDULGENCE: Nairobi Burger Week 2021

Are you planning to start a diet? Everyone knows that the best time to start a diet is always tomorrow or probably the 8th of March. Here’s Why!  The Nairobi Burger Week returns this year after a break in 2020 and it’s bigger, tastier and bunnier! Brought to you by Eat Out, the annual Burger Fest is the place to indulge your palate, pamper yourself and get a taste of every burger that Nairobi has to offer. That diet plan can definitely wait.

The 23rd of February was not an ordinary Tuesday for us. Our location was at Nairobi’s famed burger joint, the Urban Burger at Westgate. The mission? To kick-start this year’s Burger Week. Arriving at 2:30 pm, this was the perfect time to have a late lunch.  After checking in, we received our tags and joined the already hyped burger party. The invited guests ranged from media houses and influencers such as Tracy Gachie, Yummy Mummy, Kate Kendy, and Just Ivy; all eager to spoil themselves and make the most out of a dull Tuesday afternoon. As per COVID-19 guidelines, there were measures in place to ensure social distancing and safety. We party but party safe!

We settled next to the Dj’s deck, and enjoyed some nice music before beginning the program. On the deck, Dj Brizzy set up the mood with some Kwento, Afrobeats and Kenyan music. There were chips for starters as well as water, soda and beer for refreshments. After an official welcome by MC JayTakeAPic , we were ready for some burgers! We scanned the menu and got to choose any burger of our liking from an assortment of options. We finally got to enjoy the succulent, meaty, juicy, burgers along with a mug of cold beer to wash everything down. Sated and satisfied, it was time for some fun beer pong, a pleasurable game that added to the liveliness of the afternoon. It was also an effective way to digest the burgers.

Later, we got to hear from Joy Wairimu, the General Manager of Eatout who gave us all the handy info to enjoy Burger Week 2021. This year’s Burger Week has over 150 participating outlets all over Nairobi. Therefore, you will not have to go out of your way to enjoy a delicious burger because you will find an outlet near you. From Urban Gourmet Burgers to Burger King, Artcaffe, Big Square and Java House, you can drop by at any of these restaurants and take advantage of the numerous burger offers. (Visit Eat Out for the full list of participating restaurants of Nairobi Burger Week 2021). Even better, Uber Eats is also part of Burger Week. Alternatively, you can order your burgers and have them delivered right where you are!

Nairobi Burger Week begins from February 26th to March 7th, which means that you have an entire ten-day access to all the burgers you can eat! Even on a diet, cheat days are always allowed. We won’t judge…
