The ride hailing app, Bolt has finally launched their food delivery service, Bolt Food in Nairobi. Kenya is the third country in Africa, following South Africa and Ghana where the company is already operating their food delivery service. The new service will help restaurants continue running during the pandemic as restaurants scale down due to COVID-19 guidelines, while also offering numerous job opportunities for couriers.
To begin this fast and exciting foodie adventure, you first need to download the Bolt Food app to your phone. The app has a listing of more than 200 restaurants including KFC, Big Square, Pizza Mojo, Urban Gourmet Burger, Debonairs Pizza, Steers, and others where you can order from Choose the one closest to you, and the dish you would like to order. After a final confirmation and payment, the order is prepared. You can track the entire process from when the restaurant receives your order, a courier gets assigned to you, to when the courier sets out to bring your food.
We got to try the app’s services and were rewarded with some scrumptious Biryani courtesy of Haandi Indian Restaurant. After ordering some mutton Balti Biryani, it only took around 20 minutes for the food to arrive and we enjoyed it while it was still hot and delectable!
