“If you want to make some memories, add some tequila…” Thus, we made some pinked Tequila memories at the Park Inn in Westlands on the chilly afternoon of June 25. The occasion, a High Tea Party organized by Viva Global, as they introduced their newest liqueur brand in the market, Strawberry Lips!
A touch of pink, creamy, silky smooth and splendidly sweet, Strawberry Lips is a strawberry flavored cream liqueur laced with premium Gold Tequila. The liqueur is a South African product launched in 2012, and newly repackaged with a pink, vivacious bottle in January 2020. The flamboyant drink had now arrived in Kenya, courtesy of Viva Global, a distribution and importation beverage company in the East African region.
The high tea party was to start at 2:00 pm but in typical Kenyan fashion, we arrived about an hour late. Fortunately, the event did not begin until 3:30 pm and we did not miss out on any of the liqueured festivities. The rooftop area we occupied at Park Inn was intimate and beautifully set up with a stunning and elegant arrangement by Picnics by Njoki. Paying homage to the pink drink, the theme was white and pink, and everyone arrived vividly dressed in various shades of pink.
Sweet snacks were served including cupcakes, macarons and croissant sandwiches but the highlight was definitely the endless flow of Strawberry Lips drinks throughout the occasion. Unofficially dubbed “the life of any party”, Strawberry Lips is best served in elegant Martini glasses over crushed ice or taken as a shot, both of which we got to try at the high tea party. The drinks were beautifully served and true to their slogan, livened up the atmosphere.
Meera from Viva Global made the official introduction of Strawberry Lips, talking to the intimate gathering of influencers and bloggers such as Kate Kendy, Samantha Cook, Shely Sophisticated, among others. With beverages such as Red Bull and Hennessy on their catalogue, Viva Global now adds Strawberry Lips to their liqueur collection by introducing it to the Kenyan market. . We capped off the tea party at around 5:00pm, a little tipsy but sufficiently sated by the sweetness of the Strawberry Tequila. As a parting gift, we received a goodie bag with a bottle of Strawberry Lips, a Viva Global catalogue, strawberry stickers, pink sunglasses and pink moustache stick-ons to continue the Tequila festivities at home.
