Last month we got an invite from Viva Global to an influencers appreciation event dubbed “The Medley; Cheese Wine Dessert. The event was to be held at “The Laughing Buddha at Kenrail Towers which we had never been to, and this added to the psyche to attend. Trying out various wines paired with cheese and pastries as we catch up with other lifestyle influencers and foodies? Bliss!
On the day of the event; as soon as we got to “The Laughing Buddha” we knew we had to do a review to show you how gorgeous it is and what we liked or did not like.
The set up was changed due to the event but our eyes quickly noticed the golden laughing buddha statue as you enter, the Instagram feature pink roses wall and sofa on the corner and the pretty and colourful well done mural paintings all over. Pink and green is a lavish combo and these are the main theme colours at Laughing Buddha.
Sitting options include the cafe area facing the beautiful and spacious counter, the bar area with the high and comfy bar stools or outside. This is one restaurant you may want to sit inside though because of how pretty it is. The outside was busy but we preferred to sit at the bar chatting to a Naija playlist that was set at just the right volume and bass.
You’ll definitely notice the attention to detail in different elements like the velvet seats, the golden spoons, pink mugs, branded serviettes, vases, and many other decor pieces that tie everything together.
We love that the vibe and mood would be perfect whether you are grabbing a quick bite to start your day, brunch with the girls, cocktails or wine , dinner or a desert dash. The menu also has a wide selection to choose from making it a spot you may want to visit more than once. LB food is not only presented instagrammably but it will not disappoint your taste buds either. They source their ingredients from the best local brands such as Sirimoin* cheese. The desserts section called Pia Papa cakes is an actual dessert fairytale, no cap.
Spaces that transport your mind to a different world as soon as you step inside are gems. That is why we couldn’t wait to share our experience with you. After a long day/week or after sitting in Nairobi traffic; the ambience at LB will be the reset you need before ordering from their Indian-inspired menu that caters to both the savoury or sweet tooths.
