ADOPT FRAGRANCE LAUNCH: On a Quest for Elegance

“No elegance is possible without perfume. It is the unseen, unforgettable, ultimate accessory.” –Coco Chanel. Thus, we went on a quest for elegance at the launch of Adopt, the French fragrance now available in Kenya.

Linton’s Beauty World would like to invite you to the launch of Adopt- an affordable French fragrance.” We received the official invitation to the launch and gladly accepted it.  The early morning of September 24 saw us head to the Linton’s store at Nairobi Mega, ready to advance our level of elegance and our collection of scents. Linton’s is a renowned brand retailer and distributor of luxury cosmetic brands such as Black Opal, Note Cosmetique, Lancome, Estee Lauder and Mac. The company, with stores all around East Africa, now adds Adopt French fragrances to their esteemed catalogue.

The story of Adopt dates back to 1986 in Bordeaux, France.  Bordeaux is a port city on the Garonne River famed for its prestigious wines, the Gothic Cathédrale Saint-André, 18th- & 19th-century mansions, art museums and exotic public gardens lined up along the river quays. This time, however, Bordeaux became the locale where Adopt fragrances were first concocted.  Adopt was then a reserve brand for Naturally, which was later developed into a series of perfumes with a goal to offer women unique fragrances for every occasion.

Linton’s Beauty World prepared a refined set-up to bring the French fragrance into the East African market. Since it was early in the morning, they also gave us a generous spread of pastries from Artcaffe that included muffins, cakes and refreshing drinks. Brand manager, June Mwathi, gave us a brief chat about the launch of Adopt perfume in East Africa, which aims to target middle-income earners keen on quality products and in this case, acquiring sophisticated scents.

What fragrance are you today? Be it “fruits and pleasure” or “flowers and romanticism”, Adopt offers numerous scents to choose from according to your mood and occasion of the day. There are up to 26 different fragrances at Linton’s Beauty World stores, going for as little as Ksh 1600, which you can also purchase from their website. The scents have a practical and compact packaging so that you can always have your favorite perfume with you.

To cap off the event, Linton’s generously handed out goodie bags with two Adopt perfumes to bring home. Mission accomplished, our quest for elegance was successful because a good perfume is the finishing touch you need to achieve elegance.
