THE TUSKER’S NEXTERS PHENOMENAL ACTS

A July recap of 2022 would not be complete for Stylenerdsjournal if we failed to mention the Tuskers Nexters exclusive party we recently attended. The party was held at the carnivore grounds with those on the guest list being media, artists and relatives of the Nexters.

First up, Can We Talk About The Decor?

The Setup was well thought out and nothing was amiss. It was a black and yellow kind of party, true to the Tusker brand colors.

A Little Backstory…

If you’re wondering what the Tusker Nexters is all about, here’s the lowdown. Kenya Breweries Limited aims to foster the next generation of talent and eSports through the Tusker Nexters competition.

Young talents from across the 5 regions of Kenya auditioned for the chance to stake their claim on the title of Tusker’s next star. The campaign was launched in March as part of a bigger initiative to celebrate Tusker’s 100-year anniversary by identifying the next generation of musical talent and giving a platform to the next frontier of virtual sports– eSports.

How The Day Was

The Mcees, Reeda and Aziza, and the DJ of the day really set the tone for the day.

The Competition was for both the Esports FIFA Finals and Music semis which was streaming live on YouTube. The musical performances from the nexters were next level, so much so that the judges Eric W, Nadia and Blaze had a hard time coming to a decision from the 19 talented semi-finalists form across the country down to 7.

The crowd helped out here by voting for our faves too by texting their codes to a number.  Other than the music, the commentators for ESPorts also kept us entertained with their fun banter.

The final results

19 Tusker Nexters music semi-finalists from across the country whittled down to 7. The artists selected to proceed to the next stage were rappers Veryl Mkali Wao from Nakuru, TK Lyon from Kisumu, and singers Bakhita from the Rift region, Lexxie and Angachi from Mombasa, Zaituni from Nairobi and Kamwana from Kisumu. The overall Tusker Nexter eSports winner was Maker Matur.

No Party Like The After Party

The After party was a banger! We were entertained by amazing artists including Nviiri the storyteller, Wanavokali and Savara of Sauti Sol. Other artists we spotted having a good time at the Tusker Nexters party were Blinky Bill and Kahush. KBL really knows how to throw an unforgettable party and stylenerdsjournal loved being part of it!

All roads now lead to Tusker Oktobafest for the #TuskerNexters showdown.
